Article history: Received March 28, 2013 Received in Revised form August 28, 2013 Accepted 27 November 2013 Available online 28 November 2013 In this work, acidity constants protonated form of 4.4'-bis astilbene-2,2'-disulfonic-disodium salts (TRIAZ) have been determined spectrophotometrically and spectrofluorimetrically at 25C and ionic strength of 0.1M KNO3. A program based on MCR-ALS applied for determination of acidity constants. The results show that the peak values of dye are influenced by the presence of anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. The effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), Triton X-100 (TX-100) and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as a surface-active agent on the acidic and basic forms, and the spectral properties of dye were studied. Also, we determined the critical micelle concentration (CMC) for these surfactants by spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric triazine dye probes. In addition, by using of evolving factor analysis (EFA) and multivariate curve resolution alternative least squares (MCR-ALS) methods, acidity constants were acquired. © 2014 Growing Science Ltd. Spectrophotometric Determination of Acidity Constants of Some Anthraquinone Derivatives in Methanol-Water Mixtures

A spectrophotometric method is used to determine the acidity constants of some derivatives of 9,10-anthraquinone in binary methanol-water mixtures at 25 °C. There is a linear inverse relationship between pKa of all acids and the mole fraction of methanol in the mixed solvent. The influence of substituents in the molecular structure on the ionization constants is discussed.

Determination of Acidity Constants of p-Rosolic acid and Bromoxylenol Blue by Solution Scanometric Method

Recently solution scanometry, as a new, simple, fast, portable, and economic method was introduced for determination of acidity constants of indicator and dyes. In this study, a method was applied for the determination of the acidity constant of p-Rosolic acid (RA) and Bromoxylenol blue (BXB) indicators. The method is based on scanning of Plexiglas® sheet containing colored solutions with a fla...

Spectrophotometric Determination of Acidity Constants of Thiamine in Water, Water-Triton X-100 Micellar Media Solutions

In this work the acidity constants of Thiamine in water and water-Triton X-100 micelle media solutions, at 25 °C, have been determined spectrophotometrically. To evaluate the pH- absorbance data, a resolution based on the combination of soft-and hard-modeling is applied. The acidity constants of all related equilibria are estimated using the whole spectral fitting of the collected data to a...

Synthesized some copolymer derivative of poly (Styrene –alternative- Maleic Anhydride) (SMA) for removal Cobalt (II) ions from aqueous solutions and determination residual cobalt (II) ions by using spectrophotometric method

Chelating resins have been considered to be suitable materials for the recovery of heavy metals in water treatments. A chelating resin based on modified poly(styrene-alt-maleic anhydride) with Melamine was synthesized. This modified resin was further reacted with 1,2-diaminoethan in the presence of ultrasonic irradiation for the preparation of a tridimensional chelating resin on the nanoscale f...

Application of Chemometrics in determination of the effects of ionic and non-ionic surfactants on ac-id dissociation constant (pKa) of Meloxicam using spectrophotometric method

The purpose of this study was to determine the acid dissociation constants (pKa) of meloxicam in the presence of various surfactants including sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) as an anionic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a cationic surfactant and Triton® TX-100 (TX-100) as a non-ionic surfactant in different pre-determined concentrations. The related pKa was determined spec...
